Rosie — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2026 · Applies to the Rosie app and all associated services
1. Who we are
Rosie is operated by Chelsea Hobbs, founder, based in Canada. For any privacy-related questions or requests, you can reach us at: raellehobbs@mac.com. We will respond to all privacy inquiries within 30 days.
2. What information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored in encrypted form). We do not collect your name, phone number, or any identifying information unless you choose to add it yourself.
Safety plan and questionnaire answers
If you use the Safety Navigator, your answers to the yes/no questions and the resulting safety plan are stored privately in your account. This information is only visible to you.
Incident log entries
If you use the Incident Log, the dates, notes, and any photos you record are stored privately in your account. This information is only visible to you and is never shared.
Uploaded documents, photos, videos, and audio
Files you upload to the Document Vault — including photos, identity documents, videos, and audio recordings — are stored securely and privately. Only you can access them. We do not view, scan, or analyze the content of your files.
Trusted contacts
If you add trusted contacts to your safety plan, the names and phone numbers you enter are stored in your account. We do not contact these people on your behalf unless you explicitly use the check-in feature.
AI Guide conversations
Conversations you have with the Rosie AI Guide are not saved to your account and are not stored once your session ends. They are not used to train AI models or shared with any third party.
Usage information
We may collect basic, anonymized usage data — such as which sections of the app are visited most — to help us improve Rosie. This data cannot be linked back to you individually and does not include any content from your account.
3. Why we collect this information
We collect only what is necessary to provide Rosie's features. Specifically: your email and password allow you to securely access your account across devices; your safety plan and incident log data are stored so you can return to them; your uploaded files are stored so you can access them when needed; and your trusted contact information is stored so it appears in your safety plan. We do not collect information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. How we protect your information
All data stored in Rosie is encrypted. Files in the Document Vault and entries in the Incident Log are protected with bank-level encryption. Your account is secured with an encrypted password. We use Supabase as our secure database and storage provider, which meets industry-standard security requirements.
We strongly encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Rosie account and to enable device-level security (such as Face ID or a PIN) on the device where Rosie is installed.
5. Who can access your information
Only you can access your personal information, safety plan, incident log, uploaded files, and trusted contacts. Rosie staff do not have access to the content of your account.
We do not share your information with police, government agencies, shelters, partner organizations, or any other third party — with one exception: if we receive a valid court order requiring us to disclose specific information, we are legally required to comply. We will notify you if this occurs, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
6. Third-party services
Rosie uses Supabase (supabase.com) to store account data and uploaded files. Supabase servers may be located in the United States. By using Rosie, you consent to your data being stored and processed in accordance with Supabase's privacy policy and security standards. We have chosen Supabase because of its strong security practices and because it does not sell user data.
No other third-party services have access to your personal information.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your personal data — including your safety plan, incident log, uploaded files, and trusted contacts — will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, non-identifiable usage data may be retained for longer to help us improve the app.
8. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct any inaccurate information; request that we delete your information; withdraw your consent to our collection or use of your information at any time; and ask questions about how your information is handled. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at raellehobbs@mac.com.
9. Children
Rosie is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Quick Exit and browsing privacy
Rosie includes a Quick Exit button on every screen. Tapping it immediately navigates away from the app and clears any visible app state. We recommend also clearing your browser or device history if you are concerned about someone checking your activity. Rosie does not store your search or browsing history.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through the app before the changes take effect. Continued use of Rosie after that notice means you accept the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
12. Contact us
For any questions, concerns, or requests related to your privacy, please contact Chelsea Hobbs at raellehobbs@mac.com. We are committed to responding within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
